Step Into the Amazon: Theodore Roosevelt's River of Doubt Comes Alive
In 1914, a former president disappeared into an uncharted stretch of the Amazon and very nearly didn't come back. That journey — down the river Brazilians called the River of Doubt — is now something you can step inside. At the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora, North Dakota, the Amazon gallery and its immersive theater surround visitors with the rush of whitewater, the green hush of the rainforest, and the sheer scale of one of the most harrowing expeditions of Roosevelt's life. Rushing rapids, mist, birdsong, canopy light — it's the closest most people will ever come to the Roosevelt–Rondon Scientific Expedition of 1913–1914. The expedition set out to chart a thousand-mile river no outside explorer had ever mapped. It cost the team dearly, nearly claimed Roosevelt himself, and ended with the River of Doubt renamed in his honor: the Rio Roosevelt. Come feel a piece of that story for yourself. Plan a visit: trlibrary.com #TheodoreRoosevelt #RiverOfDoubt #PresidentialLibrary #Amazon #Medora #NorthDakota #ImmersiveExperience #History

Keep The Meter Running with Kareem Rahma | Official Trailer
In each episode of Keep The Meter Running, NYC comedian Kareem Rahma hops into a yellow cab and asks the driver to take him to their favorite place—with one condition: keep the meter running. What begins as a simple fare quickly evolves into a deep dive into the driver’s world and a moving exploration of the American Dream, captured one unforgettable ride at a time. As the meter fare rises, Kareem asks the poignant questions he never had the chance to ask his own cabbie father, turning the backseat into a space for connection and storytelling. Whether he’s joining a crew of Russians at a bath house, fishing with a Korean cabbie at Bear Mountain, salsa dancing in Long Island, or producing an off-Broadway show, Kareem dedicates himself to making the driver’s personal dreams a reality. In this series, the journey truly is the destination; as Kareem learns about the lives of the people behind the wheel, he ultimately discovers a little more about himself. The first two episodes premiere May 13th!

What Is a Previvor? | Finding Power In Prevention | Real Stories
What is a previvor? And what does representation look like in the hereditary breast cancer community? Learn more about BRCA, genetic testing, hereditary breast cancer risk, and preventive mastectomy options at https://www.theprevivor.org This video is part of a storytelling campaign from The Previvor Foundation, featuring real previvors and breast cancer survivors who are bravely sharing their lived experiences. What began as Founder, Allyn Rose's personal story has grown into a collective movement, a tapestry of women navigating BRCA gene mutations, preventive mastectomy, breast reconstruction, survivorship, and life after diagnosis. For too long, there have been limited visible stories of women who choose prevention before cancer or who survive hereditary breast cancer. Our model calls were created to change that, by increasing representation, amplify diverse experiences, and ensure that no woman facing genetic testing or a cancer diagnosis feels alone. In this feature story, you’ll hear firsthand what it means to: • Test positive for a BRCA mutation • Navigate preventive surgery • Face breast cancer diagnosis and treatment • Reclaim identity after mastectomy • Find empowerment through community Hereditary breast cancer affects thousands of families every year. BRCA1, BRCA2 and other mutations significantly increase lifetime cancer risk — but education, representation, and proactive healthcare change outcomes. Each campaign shoot allows us to spotlight more voices, more journeys, and more courage. Because when women see themselves reflected, they feel less alone. ABOUT THE PREVIVOR FOUNDATION The Previvor Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to: • Raising awareness about hereditary breast cancer • Educating women about BRCA genetic testing • Supporting preventive and proactive health decisions • Creating community for previvors and survivors CONNECT Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theprevivor Founder: https://www.instagram.com/allynrose

'I'm painting in the technology of my time' – Samia Halaby | Tate
Step inside the studio of Palestinian-American artist Samia Halaby, one of the earliest innovators of digital art. In the mid-1980s, Halaby bought an Amiga computer and taught herself how to code. With it she produced bold, colourful 'kinetic paintings', consisting of vivid, brightly coloured geometric shapes and slanting lines shifting restlessly in all directions. For Halaby, these works were a continuation of the abstract paintings she had been creating in oils and acrylic since the 1960s. In this film, we travel with Halaby from her New York studio to London for a special musical performance at Tate Modern, as well as the opening of a new commission at Outernet London, where her works are shown on a scale like never before. See Halaby's work in Tate Modern's exhibition Electric Dreams: Art and Technology before the Internet, on until 1 June 2025: https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/electric-dreams Research supported by Hyundai Tate Research Centre: Transnational in partnership with Hyundai Motor Subscribe for weekly films: http://goo.gl/X1ZnEl To license Tate films please email film.licensing@tate.org.uk
